ASHEVILLE, N.C. — Big bats blasted the Tennessee Tornado past the Asheville Redbirds last night at T.C. Roberson High School, 7-6.
Tennessee improves to 7-3 for the season after splitting this week’s road trip, while Asheville falls to 4-5, 0-5 against Northern Division opponents. Sam Eberle and Bart Roark led the power attack for the Tornado, as Eberle went 3-5 with a home run and Roark went 2-5 with two home runs. Dom Spadafora was 2-4 with a triple, and Fabian Harper was 2-4.
Tomorrow the Tornado return to Cardinal Park to face the Carolina Chaos in a double-header starting at 5 p.m. Carolina came into the week at 2-3, set to play a three-game homestand before traveling to Johnson City, Tenn. They played Lake Norman last night and they play Morganton in a double-header tonight. Last Friday, Tennessee split their season opener with the Chaos at Southern Wesleyan University, as they won the first game 2-0 on a shutout by Shane Grimm but lost the second game 3-2 in eight innings.
